My name is Debora Losa- de Block. From childhood I have a great passion for nature. I have been active at the World Wildlife Fund from a young age, first as a youth member and later as a volunteer. It was therefore no surprise that I studied Forest and Nature Management (BSc) and then International Land and Water Management (MSc). During my studies I was involved in the protection of sea turtles in Greece. Also, I worked with IUCN on the conservation of mangrove forests in Indonesia. In May 2018 I completed my doctoral research (PhD) at Wageningen University, the Netherlands. I studied projects that use nature to adapt to climate change.
During my research I met my Spanish husband Marcos Losa Torviso. He quickly took me to his birthplace Asturias in northern Spain. For me it was a great surprise to discover such a green piece of Spain, with a beautiful coast and high mountains at a very short distance from each other! In the following years, our desire grew to move to Asturias. After the birth of our first daughter Esther, in 2018 we took the step and embarked on the adventure.
I founded intoAsturias (officially registered as Travel Agency in Spain with the code CR.68.AS) in 2019, to help more international visitors enjoy Northern Spain and Asturias in particular. Over the years, we organized vacation packages and guided visits for hundreds of clients from all over the world. Sustainable travel, practically translated into eco-tourism experiences, selecting small-scale, locally owned accommodations, and hiring local, English-speaking guides, is our core value. Every year, we work with interns and local people, offering them the chance to gain experience in the tourism sector. Besides, I received the accreditation for official tourist guide of the Principado de Asturias in 2024 (GT.284.AS), so there’s a high chance that you’ll meet me as your guide during your visit to Northern Spain and Asturias!
Very happy with the trip and truly impressed by the nature and biodiversity of the region. Several amazing wildlife sightings, including bearded vultures, Apollo butterflies, green lizards, stag beetles — and the absolute highlight: a brown bear with its cub! We were particularly impressed by Laura from SENDA Ecoturismo. Both excursions with her were absolutely fantastic. The overall experience was very good, and we would certainly recommend this kind of nature-focused itinerary, so a big thank you again for your excellent work!
Jim and I want to Thank You again for the amazing day in Asturias. You made the experience a lifelong memory for us.
Super friendly guide, Debora and Marcos know heaps about beautiful Asturias and are more than happy to share their love for this unique piece of Spain with you!
They listen to what you are looking for and find or create something to suit. Very trustworthy guides.
Debora was so easy to be with. The hike was through some beautiful areas that we would not have found on our own. We love nature so the hike was perfect for us.
It was a really nice experience. Nice walk, lovely spa, interesting lunch and a very kind and lovely guide.
