Immerse yourself in the captivating world of the red deer during our Red Deer Bellowing Tour in Ponga Natural Park!

In the Asturian forests, a remarkable wildlife spectacle takes place in autumn: the red deer bellowing (or berrea in Spanish). During this time, the majestic red deer (Cervus elaphus) are at the height of their sexual tension. They announce their presence to receptive females with deep, hoarse roars. Stags proudly roar proclaiming their virility to the surrounding wilderness. It is quite common to hear their powerful calls, especially on rainy days.

Together with an experienced guide you explore beautiful Ponga Natural Park at the feet of the famous Picos de Europa while observing red deer on their mating ritual!

What does this activity consist of?

This red deer bellowing tour takes place in the Natural Park and Biosphere Reserve of Ponga. You hike about 10km with a gradient of about 400m on a forest track.
